IFC Taco Night
IFC will be holding a Taco Night at the Greek Park where we will be talking about Fraternity Life and this upcoming Spring Recruitment. Join us to enjoy some free food and learn what joining a Fraternity means
Pre Rush Informational Session- Sunday, March 10
Interested in becoming a member of an IFC Fraternity? Come join the UCSB Interfraternity Council as they welcome all potential new members to the kickoff of recruitment. The IFC Executive Board will discuss everything you need to know during this process and answer any questions you might have about the structure. Hear their testimonials as to why they joined a fraternal organization, and learn from chapter presidents how they have grown as a result of their membership. You will be able to submit your questions live if you have any.
Kick-off Event
Walkarounds
Potential new members will receive a schedule to visit all participating chapters throughout the day and into the evening. You will travel in groups with a member of the IFC and will have an opportunity to chat with members of each organization to learn more about the individual fraternities and show you where they will be located throughout the week. The council and chapters know you might have class during this time; that is fine. Attend class when you need to and jump back into your schedule when you are done.
All PNMs will need to follow their schedule as assigned so chapters know when to expect you
These are free-roam days and It is your first chance to go back to the chapters that you are interested in learning more about. Meet some of the brothers, and engage in casual conversation with more of the members. You should use this time to ask us the hard questions to see if you can see yourself in one of our organizations. Once you start getting a feel for each of the chapters start narrowing down your list thinking about where you can see yourself. Continue visiting the ones you see yourself joining.
Meet the Brothers
You will be emailed which chapter(s) you have been invited back to for the evening event. The email will come from the IFC VP Recruitment. You might receive invitations to return to all chapters; you might receive invitations to return to a few chapters. This is your final opportunity to engage with the chapters who have invited you back! You will have the freedom to move about as you please - the only constraint is that you should only be visiting chapters you were invited back to. Continue thinking about which chapters you are seriously considering. Dinner will be provided.

Bid day!
It is your chance to find out if you received an invitation to join one or more of the fraternities on our campus (aka "bid"). You should stop by the Student Resource Building (SRB) between noon and 3:00 p.m. If you are offered a bid, you have the option of accepting or declining. If you do not receive a bid you will receive an email Friday morning and do not need to come to the SRB; there might still be a chance to receive a late bid in the coming weeks, but that is not a guarantee. Chapters conducting secondary recruitment opportunities will be emailed your contact information. Participation in late bids vary by chapter.
